You Capture: Real Life

This week’s You Capture assignment was your Real Life.

I instantly thought, “Oh, so not the glossed over version, got it.” And I started to think of what my life feels like, what my real life consists of, and truth be told, it feels like a to do list.

There is the yard that needs to be raked.

The couch and chair that need to be vacuumed and the poster sitting on the couch, waiting to be framed.

And don’t forget my desk. If it looks like chaos, then you might understand how my job feels, so much to do, so much.

But then, I stopped for a minute and began to think harder and realized that my life is not the things I do, it is something else entirely.

It is the moment I wake up and the first thing I see is this precious face.

Good morning sunshine, Momma loves you more every day. (This is waiting to be hung and I DON’T CARE, I like that it sits right across from our bed, I think it’s perfect.)

And the little dog in the yard, who spends every moment as close to me as she can get, a substitute baby and Daddy, big job for such a little one and she takes it very seriously.

It is waking up, not knowing where I am, but glancing over to a counter full of his things.

My real life is a vanity with his things on one side and mine on the other. It doesn’t matter if this is where we pay the mortgage, where we are together is home.

And that is my real life.
