You Capture: Hope
I have a lot to tell you, but I don’t want to clutter this post.
I have decided to participate in Beth's weekly challenge to take photographs, aptly titled You Capture. Usually there is an assignment, but this week she allowed us to choose the subject.
I missed her Autumn assignment and thought I’d post a picture of the tree out front slowly turning colors. But then I got home late last night and got the mail, and got this.
This charming necklace and thoughtfully drafted note were waiting in my mailbox.
And more than that, a reminder that Hope is not lost, just sometimes hidden.
I am far too moved to say that these few sentences suffice, more will follow.
But for now, I captured Hope.
I didn't know you posted until your sister left a comment on my blog. This brought tears to my eyes, and never have I been so glad to go with my instinct and do something for someone. I know that something as simple as a necklace isn't going to bring it all back for you, but I hope and pray that when you wear the necklace, you can hold on to just a little bit of hope.

Proof is never more evident than it is in these small gestures that mean the world. There is still good. There is still love. The sun will still shine. Laughter will return. There is hope.... Thinking of you.

Reminds me of lyrics from a Guided By Voices song:
"Everybody's got a hold on hope
It's the last thing that's holding me"
Beautiful post.

Beautiful. The pictures and the friendship. I came over from You Capture and needed to share that I am so sorry for your loss. My son passed away in 2007 and I also blog about it as a means to step through this new life. Sending prayers your way.

Sara,
I just had to go back to this post and tell you yesterday while sitting in church, the pastor was talking about hope and was refering to Romans....the entire time of him talking about HOPE I kept thinking about you and this post......I know that at some point, it will return and it will be fantastic. I wish I could remember word for word what Pastor Pete has said but it so pertained to you....I couldn't stop thinking about it, you and this.....And a big smile did come over my face.
Love you,
Cari
